Scott Davidson

Scott Davidson is a percussionist specializing in hand drumming from around the world.

Scott studied tabla and pakawaj in Ahmedabad, India, and attended the Creative Music Studio, University of Delaware and Wilmington College. He has studied various drums and percussion instruments with Collin Walcott, Glen Velez, Robert "Boysie" Lowery, Nana Vasconcellos, and many others.

He has performed with many dance and theater groups, and has led many jazz and World music ensembles. He has lectured on Indian music at the University of Delaware, and given percussion workshops at William & Mary College, Shenandoah University, University of Connecticut, University of the Arts, and at Temple University. In October 2007, he toured with Greek Oud player Nikos Dimitriadis.

At present he leads the Scott Davidson trio, performs with a Native American flutist, and is also writing a biography of Wilmington jazz musician Lem Winchester.
